Renewal

What does it mean to renew your certification?
Certified management consultants need to maintain their designation through a certification renewal process. Certified management consultants are required to apply for certification renewal every three years from their initial election date.

What is the certification renewal process?
As with the original certification process, certification renewal is based on a point system. Therefore, it's important that you gather the 30 points required to renew. Applicants are required to earn points in the areas of education, work experience and professional activities.

How will I know if I have to renew my certification?
Since certification renewal needs to be completed every 3 years, you will know if you have to renew when you reach the third anniversary of your certification.

What if I was certified before 1997 and have not yet renewed?
Your status as a certified management consultant would have lapsed and you would have to apply for certification again.

Do I need to provide information in order to renew my certification?
Like the original certification application, the process requires you to provide all supporting documentation.

How can I find out more information?
For more information about your certification or certification renewal application, contact office@imcusa.org. For more information about certification or certification renewal policy, contact CRNC-Chair@imcusa.org.

Where should I send my certification renewal information?
Completed certification renewal applications should be sent to:

Institute of Management Consultants
2025 M Street NW, Suite 800
Washington, DC 20036-3309

It can also be faxed to 202-367-2134

Are there fees associated with certification renewal?
